BP Debate Club

BP Debate Club

Led by Shao

My future plans for SFL are ambitious yet I am hopeful and have no doubt that we can complete these goals. Firstly, I hope to restart our mock debates. I would like to have monthly mock debates where students can nurture their love for debate and also get some effective practice. Not only that, I hope to run a debate club once a week for an hour completely free of charge. Children everywhere can come to learn and also have fun as we will run lessons and debate related games and activities. This debate club aspires to advance critical thinking, analytical skills and creativity. I am sure that these advancements will come in the near future.

Autism Buddyship Program

Autism Buddyship Program

Led by Eric, Nicholas, and Orange

We offer free, one-on-one online sessions individually tailored to each child's needs, fostering growth in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. We also help them build confidence, improve communication skills, and develop lasting friendships. At the same time, we can also provide group classes, such as reading classes, painting classes, singing classes, etc. We conducted reading group classes for 18 consecutive months for special autistic children of a well-known charity organization in the United States. Our dedicated young volunteers offer care and encouragement to others. Sessions are held on Zoom or Google Meet, 30–50 minutes, 1–2 times a week. During sessions, volunteers and buddies (special kids like down syndrome and autistic children) have sessions that are mostly used towards reading to improve comprehension.

One-on-One Online Support for Children with Special Needs

A Service Program from Shape Future Leaders (SFL)

How It Works

  • 1Dedicated Volunteers – Our trained young volunteers offer care and encouragement to others.
  • 2Interactive Sessions – Held on Zoom or Google Meet, 30–50 minutes, 1–2 times a week. During sessions, volunteers and buddies have sessions that are mostly used towards reading to improve comprehension.
  • 3Parent Involvement – Parents submit a short application to help us to match their children with the right volunteers.
  • 4Personalized Approach – A brief introductory meeting ensures sessions align with the child's interests and needs, so that they will be more engaged during sessions.

Our Commitment

We decided to create this program because we firmly believe that every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and empowered, regardless of their background, abilities, or challenges.

Whether a child is neurotypical, has special needs, or faces unique personal circumstances, we are committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment where they can grow with confidence.

At the same time, this program is just as transformative for our volunteers. By engaging in this program, they will have the opportunity to develop their various leadership skills that would help them greatly in the future. By doing this, we are creating a program where both the children and the volunteers can learn, connect, and thrive.
